I have a fabulous friend named Charita. She always looks sleek. And after two kids, she looks better than ever. And her kids always look stylish, too. How does she do it? As a single girl with no kids, it takes 100% of my energy and concentration to pull together a “look” just for myself. I can’t stand her.
But still, I love her. And I have always admired her style. One thing that I picked up on is that she doesn’t wear a ton of prints. Her wardrobe is super chic. You could drop her in the middle of Paris Fashion Week and she would blend right in.

Meanwhile, my wardrobe looks like a garden has exploded. Florals everywhere. And it doesn’t stop at florals. Stripes galore. Leopard in abundance. Camouflage not camouflaging. Print, print, print. I had to come to terms with this, y’all. At the end of the day, I love me a good ole, nasty print.
I had to come to terms with the fact that I could admire her style but still look great in my own way. I could embrace what my eye is drawn to and make it my own. After all– my general style is not muted colors and sleek lines. It trends more toward…hmmmm….let’s call it curvy girl electric bohemian. And I love it because it’s my own.
Considering my curvy girl eclectic bohemian style, my favorite thing about Spring is the FLORAL PRINTS. I promise you I spend March through June in florals. My eye is drawn to them. They make me happy.
