3 Red Lip Colors for Medium Complexion

In honor of Valentine’s day, I am diving deep into the world of red lipsticks. Ok, not too deep. I am not a makeup artist by any stretch of the imagination, and I will be using my 3 favorite red lipsticks from my own makeup collection. Still– I figure I can add some value if you are someone who is looking for some red lipsticks to spice up their Valentine’s day, or any day, for that matter.

So on to complexion– I never know how to pinpoint my complexion, so I’ll just say it’s “medium” since that’s usually the color range of foundation I use. Easy enough.

Complexions aside, I think these colors would look good on anyone, to be honest. I am a believer that anyone can rock any lipstick color they want. Life is short. As long as you wear confidence, you’ll look fabulous, my dear.

 

Ok– on to the show. The first color I am wearing is Tesoro by Stila Cosmetics. Stila means “Treasure” in Spanish, and this lippie is certainly that. It’s a perfect red-orange…and I would know. I searched far and wide for over a year to get a good, bright, red orange color to wear when I’m tan and serve a “I’m on vacation in Hawaii” look. What I found is that color is good for tons of other looks, too. When you need a bright pop of color– this is it.

Next is Ruby Woo by MAC, which is a standard and classic red. When I

say this red goes with anything– this red goes with ANYthing. I honestly keep it in my purse in case a day takes an interesting turn, and I end up needing to serve a look. Ruby Woo will never let you down.

Finally, there is the deep red lip stain Death Cherry by Melt Cosmetics. Now, before I said that I am NOT a makeup artist, but please note that I am a certified makeup/product junkie. And as such, I am familiar with the majority of the boutique brands. And Melt always delivers. I’ve gotten several of  their lipsticks, and for beautiful, unique colors with great payoff and brightness, Melt is a great brand. This Death Cherry color pops big-time against my skin. I can’t stop making kissy faces when I wear it!
